Legal Counsel (m/f/d)

Join our legal team in the Legal, Compliance & Political Affairs department and help shape the future of Lufthansa Cargo! In this role, you will advise business units on key legal matters, ensure compliance with laws and internal guidelines, support efficient decision-making processes, and safeguard the interests of an international company with key stakeholders.

Tasks
Your responsibilities:

• Advising internal clients (key account system) of Lufthansa Cargo AG, its subsidiaries and affiliated companies on legal risks in contractual matters, general business transactions and overarching projects
• Independently analyzing and assessing complex legal issues, and communicating solutions clearly to relevant departments
• Safeguarding and enforcing the company's legal interests against third parties and in court, in cooperation with the respective business units
• Supporting the selection, engagement, and coordination of external lawyers, including decisions on their involvement, content supervision, and cost control
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements and internal guidelines, as well as supporting the implementation of compliance programs

Requirements
You combine solid professional expertise with the following skills and experience:

• Completed university studies in law and second German state examination with above average results, or equivalent qualifications and experience gained through relevant education and professional practice (such as an equivalent legal qualification in an EU jurisdiction)
• Extensive professional experience in the legal field; knowledge of transport and forwarding law, customs law, or foreign trade law is an advantage
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking, combined with excellent planning and coordination skills and a results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset
• Confident and decisive, with strong influencing skills and excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
• Excellent German and English language skills
